258005: R485 Barefield (Townland: Drumquin), Co Clare
to carry out, as part of the "Safe Routes to School" scheme, the following development: 1) Construction a 270m footpath on the northwestern side of the R458, opposite the school, and provide 36 no. parallel car parking spaces. 2) Install a controlled pedestrian crossing at the school and 2 no. uncontrolled pedestrian crossings, one to the north and one to the south, all of these will be raised crossings. 3) Remove existing centerline hatching and yellow road edge markings and replace centerline in new location. 4) Install new pencil bollards on existing path, and "School Zone" road markings. 5) Install additional public lighting columns and associated ancillary works to tie into existing public lighting system. 6) Relocation of existing gullies, tapping into existing surface drainage system. 7) Provision of associated Signage and Road Markings 8) All associated and ancillary site works. In accordance with the Birds and Natural Habitats Directive, Screening for Appropriate Assessment has been carried out on the project. An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) screening statement has been prepared and concludes that there is no real likelihood of significant effects on the environment arising from the proposed development
