to carry out the following development: N85 National Road VRS (Vehicle Restraint System) Installations in the townlands of Mweelagarraun, Knockatemple, Ballyknock, Kilnamona, Co. Clare consisting of: • Installation of 3 No. vehicle restraint systems, totalling the installation of 630m of vehicle restraint system comprising of: - safety barriers with ground anchor support systems (driven or concrete) - safety barrier transitions with ground anchor support systems (driven or concrete) - safety barrier terminals with ground anchor support systems (driven or concrete) • The Removal of 100m of existing vehicle restraint systems. • Alterations to ground levels to accommodate the development. • All ancillary site works to include vegetation and tree removal. In accordance with the Habitats Directive, an Appropriate Assessment Screening has been carried out on the project. It has been concluded that the project is not predicted to result in any likely significant effects on any European Site(s) within the zone of influence of the proposed project, either alone or in combination with any other plans and, accordingly, an Appropriate Assessment is not required
